Russian tycoon and tech investor Yuri Milner paid $100 million for his Silicon Valley mansion last year, making it the most expensive home in the U.S.But it turns out the home, in Los Altos Hills, is worth only half that—$50.27 million, based on a recent tax assessment—the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Even if it means Milner, who invested hundreds of millions of dollars into startups like Facebook, Groupon, and Zynga, vastly overpaid for the 17-acre estate, there’s one bit of good news. He’ll be getting a major discount on his property taxes— $600,000 instead of $1.2 million annually.
The 30,000-square-foot home have five bathrooms and nine bedrooms.
