A recent Yale law grad has won more than enough money to pay her tuition at the nation’s top law school.Vanessa Selbst defeated 421 other players to win more than $244,000 at the World Series of Poker, ESPN Poker reported Monday.
“I’m so happy, I have no words for once in my life,” she said, after her victory. “Normally when I bulldoze a table, it’s in like big bet events when I could bully people; this one, I just ran like God.”
Selbst dubs herself a professional poker player with a decade of experience.
And she also has a law degree from U.S. News & World Report’s number-one-ranked law school.
Selbst graduated from Yale Law School in 2012 and says on her personal website that she’ll use her degree “sometime in the future to fight for racial justice and economic equality.”
