Yahoo has signed a deal for new original video content with ex-NBC executive Ben Silverman’s IAC startup, Electus.
Kara Swisher reports no financial details have been announced, but Yahoo will be responsible for selling the branded advertisements for the videos.
At a media conference in December, Carol Bartz said video was huge for Yahoo, calling it a hot seller. According to the latest comScore data, Yahoo had 55 million unique viewers for its videos, second highest in the U.S. after YouTube.
