Just like AOL, Yahoo is asking advertisers for big bucks to be a sponsor of its Flipboard-like reading app, Livestand.
Yahoo wants $500,000 to be the launch sponsor, AdAge reports. That sponsorship would run though the end of the first quarter of 2012.
Livestand launches tomorrow, so advertisers could be getting a better rate on Livestand than on AOL Editions which is asking for $150,000 for four weeks of sponsorship.
But with Editions, advertisers are getting an audience of 100,000 downloads, and a top 10 iPad news app. Livestand could be a total dud.
