It has been over a month since the Xoom’s release, and there are only about 50 apps designed specifically for Honeycomb.
That number doesn’t include apps that have been scaled to higher resolutions to fit a tablet’s screen.
Wired did some digging through the Android Market and some discussion forums and came up with the number.
Compare that to the iPad, which had around 1,000 apps at launch and boasts tens of thousands more a year later.
This isn’t great news for Xoom owners or people planning on buying the next wave of Honeycomb tablets coming later this year. Either developers aren’t completely sold on Honeycomb, or the fact that Google released it to them late means the good stuff is still months away.
