Earlier this year we predicted Sheryl Sandberg would become one of the wealthiest self-made women in the world when Facebook went public.

She is the company’s 42-year-old Chief Operating Officer. Last year she earned a base salary of $295,833 with an $86,133 bonus.

According to the S-1 filing, Sandberg has 1,899,986 shares of Facebook common stock.  She also holds 39,321,041 options and restricted stock units which haven’t yet vested.

Once they fully vest and, if you assume Facebook IPOs at an $87.5 billion valuation at the current dilution (and Sandberg doesn’t get canned), Sandberg’s stock options will make her a billionaire. She’ll be worth about $2 billion. The options will be fully vested four years after this October.

Oprah would still be the wealthiest self-made woman with a net worth of $2.7 billion. But Sandberg could nudge out Meg Whitman, who is worth an estimated $1.3 billion.
