Wow. GoDaddy has actually hired an ad agency to do its ad during the Olympics on NBC. Deutsch NY has the job of giving GoDaddy a makeover (ie: less naked girls in ads). Over the last seven years, the brand has been notorious for making its own salacious ads in-house, co-opting the word “GoDaddy-esque” in its highly sexualized campaigns that lure customers to the site with promises of showing them more skin. GoDaddy founder, Bob Parsons, told the NYTimes that the company will go in a “new direction” because “frat boy” GoDaddy has finally “graduated from college.”
Adblade, a premium-only ad network, has launched a self-service customer retargeting tool called (sensibly) Adblade Retargeting. The tool is anticipated to increase ROI by showing ads on ultra premium sites to customers who have already browsed the products site. They want to get the window shoppers to buy something.
Sawtooth Group, an independent ad/marketing agency, is relocating its headquarters from Woodbridge, NJ to the fist-pumping Jersey Shore in Red Bank. The shop has done work for Pabst Blue Ribbon, PNC, Blue Shield, Coldwell Banker, and more.
