Jeremy Lin was scheduled to be part of a United States Olympic select team that will practice against the U.S. Olympic squad in the coming weeks. But according to Nate Taylor of the New York Times, Lin has decided to withdraw from the team citing his status as a free agent.The select squad is made up of young NBA stars, including Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers, John Wall of the Washington Wizards, and DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings. Lin will be replaced by Jrue Holiday of the Philadelphia 76ers.
Lin is expected to re-sign with the New York Knicks. However, the Knicks, who can match any offer to Lin, are waiting to see what time of offers Lin receives.
