Alright boys, here’s your perfect day.Head to The Ainsworth, rated the best sports bar in New York City by Zagat two years in a row.
Bypass the tables, the food, the screens (don’t worry, it’ll all be there when you get back). Head towards the bathroom hallway.
Go through the door that says “private”, down the staircase, and through another door to Windsor Custom — it’s your man cave, your hang out, and most importantly, it’s your dressing room.
Windsor is the secret custom clothing shop under the Ainsworth, owned by bar owners Matt Shendell and Brian Mazza, 27. Their mission is to help men shop the way men should — drink in hand, with someone keeping what you like (colours, styles etc.), and your perfect fit, at the very forefront of their mind. After your appointment, (and you must make one) you can head back upstairs to the bar and enjoy the game with your crew.
“Every guy has style,” Mazza told Business Insider. “We’re just trying to bring it out in them.”
A noble cause to be sure. Mazza came up with the idea to open Windsor a year ago. Together he and his colleague, Ralph Lauren vet Ryan Grayson, 26, have dressed everyone from Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Willie Colon to actor Albert Brooks (for the Golden Globes, he was nominated for his supporting actor role in Drive).
“I went to Marble Lane (at the Dream Hotel) and 6 guys were wearing my shirts,” said Mazza humbly. “It was the coolest feeling in the world.”
Cool for him. Even better for you.
