Windows Phone Apps May Look Stunning, But iPhone Apps Are Still More Useful

Windows Phone apps look undeniably beautiful, but they don’t always have as much functionality as iPhone apps.

Sometimes text runs off of your screen, and often there’s just too much empty space on screen.

Windows Phone utilizes swiping to navigate the app instead of a simple navigation bar, which is an elegant but perhaps inefficient solution.

iOS apps look like they’ve been built by a utilitarian mathematician who dabbles in the art, while Windows Phone apps look like they’ve been built by a brilliant artist who just can’t make up his mind about how to structure things.

Which apps look better to you?

Facebook's Windows Phone app looks more elegant, but doesn't display as much information.

The Kindle app looks much more colourful and visual on Windows Phone, but how do we sort by author?

The Evernote app lets you pin notes to your home screen (which is excellent), but the app itself puts too much weight on note titles.

Spotify's Windows Phone app looks much more refined than the iOS version, but you can't navigate it nearly as quickly.

Some apps look almost identical on Windows Phone and iOS. Windows Phone actually sacrifices space here because it uses both headers on top and buttons on its bottom.

Foursquare's Windows Phone app is a little confusing, and has symbols that don't have clear meanings.

Here's an example where Windows Phone definitely wins. The app is sleek, doesn't have run-over text, and has easy navigation.

Fandango's app also looks way better on Windows Phone than on iOS.

Weather Channel on Windows Phone is beautiful, but doesn't offer as many options on each screen.
