Windows 8 Will Launch In October

Microsoft announced today that its new Windows 8 operating system for PCs will launch at the end of October.The news comes out of the company’s Worldwide Partners Conference in Toronto.

Microsoft will push the Release To Manufacturing (RTM) version of the software to hardware partners in August so they can get devices ready for the launch.

Microsoft announced last week that current Windows XP, Vista, or 7 users will be able to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for $39.99.
