Raj Rajaratnam’s criminal trial starts tomorrow. It’s already looking like it’s going to be a media circus, with star witnesses like Lloyd Blankfein and the possibility of Raj actually testifying in his defence — super rare in these cases.
Raj’s lawyers are already saying that their client’s right to a fair trial has been impacted by the SEC’s decision to charge Raj’s buddy Rajat Gupta last week.
So now the legal team, led by courtroom pit bull John Dowd, wants special measures to be taken during jury selection, the New York Post reports.
One such precaution is the a questionnaire asking potential jury members what they think about hedge fund investments, Wall Street honesty and the Galleon scandal.
“The questionnaire also seeks to weed out people who know too much about the case,” the NY Post reports.
