It’s been over 20 years since the gang of “21 Jump Street” has been on the air, but next month we’ll be seeing a reprise of the popular TV series on the big screen.
Unfortunately for fans of the original, we won’t be seeing Johnny Depp and Peter DeLuise in the drivers seat, but instead Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill will take the reigns as partners Jenko and Schmidt going undercover for a local high school drug sting.
We’re not sure how the action-comedy will fare with fans of the cop show given Ice Cube‘s role as Captain Dickson; however, we are excited that original cast members Depp and Holly Robinson Peete will be making guest appearances in the film.
With the remake due out March 16, here’s a look back at the original cast and what they’re up to now.
The only original cast member who stayed through the show's entire five seasons, Holly Robinson Peete went on to other TV series 'Hangin' with Mr. Cooper' and 'For Your Love.'
In 1995, Peete married former NFL player Rodney Peete and the couple have four children together. After her son was diagnosed with Autism, Peete founded the non-profit HollyRod Foundation in 1997, which gives support to families with autism.
In 2010, Peete played for her organisation on 'Celebrity Apprentice,' finishing as runner-up to singer Bret Michaels.
After being fired from CBS' 'The Talk,' Peete now stars on the network's hit comedy 'Mike & Molly.'
Dustin Nguyen is also known for 'V.I.P.,' starring Pamela Anderson as a mistaken bodyguard. Really.
Recently, you may have recognised him opposite Cate Blanchett in 2005's 'Little Fish.'
Sadly, Nguyen's wife was left a quadriplegic after a car accident in 2001. Since then, both have been a part of The Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Resource centre.
Despite a recurring role on 'The X-Files,' Steven Williams is most known as the guest stars king, appearing in 32 titles from 'L.A. Heat' to 'Desperate Housewives' and 'Cold Case.'
Currently, he stars on the CW show 'Supernatural.'
A true master of disguise, Johnny Depp has shown us his wide range of talents as a socially inept gardener ('Edward Scissorhands'), a singing slayer ('Sweeney Todd'), a pirate ('Pirates of the Caribbean'), a mad hatter ('Alice in Wonderland') and more.
The three-time Oscar-nominated actor is currently filming his next feature 'The Lone Ranger' due out next year.
Shortly after '21 Jump Street' the young sex symbol played the lead on the show 'Booker,' before giving up acting in the early '90s.
Instead, Richard Grieco started singing and released a CD entitled 'Waiting for the Sky to Fall' in '95. In 2004, he formed a band called Wasteland Park.
He is also teh inspiration for Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan's characters in 'A Night at the Roxbury' in which he had a small cameo playing himself.
Although acting in 'Stargate SG-1' and numerous minor stints over the years, Hanson's jokester partner has moved from television acting to directing.
Peter DeLuise is responsible for the 'Stargate' franchise--'Stargate SG-1,' 'Stargate Atlantis,' and the upcoming 'Stargate Universe.'
He has also directed two episodes of the ABC Family drama 'Kyle XY.' Most recently, he has acted on Canadian series 'Sanctuary.'
