You're Going To Cringe When You Watch This Video Of Lakshman Achuthan Being Asked Why He's Predicting Recession

Lakshman Achuthan is the super-well respected head of ECRI, the economic forecasting firm which has its own proprietary index of leading economic indicators, which Achuthan claims is forecasting a recession.

Achuthan originally made his call at the end of September, and since then the general mood about the economy has improved, which has obviously put him on the defensive. Nonetheless, he’s sticking to his guns, still caling for a recession.

On CNBC, Steve Liesman asked Achuthan a question that many people have, which is: What’s IN your index of leading economic indicators.

The action in the video starts around the 3:30 mark, and it’s very cringe-inducing, since Achuthan steadfastly refuses to reveal his secret sauce at all. Enjoy.
