Though Week 7 features few lines that look easy to exploit, all it takes is a little bit of research to find a lot of opportunity. So we scoured the over/unders and the lines (via Yahoo!) and came up with some promising options.
Screw the stock market and put your money where it can go to work: in the hands of a sportsbook. (Of course, you might want to check your local gambling laws first.)
The Line: Chiefs -9 (SBGGlobal.com)
The Pick: With starting quarterback David Garrard officially out for Sunday's game, put your money on the Chiefs. Arrowhead Stadium presents one of the biggest homefield advantages in the NFL. Coming off two losses, the Chiefs much-improved D and their home crowd will be ready to rattle whichever scrub lines up behind centre.
Line: Steelers -3 (Sportsbook.com)
The Pick: Preseason darling Miami hasn't shown up against the NFL's best, as their two losses came against the Jets and the Pats. Well, the Steelers are among the NFL's best. Last week, Big Ben said the offence wasn't in sync in his first week back. Yet they still managed 28 points. The Steelers should cover the spread.
Over/Under: 40 (Sportsbook.com)
The Pick: Take the over on this one. The Bills' offence has been better since Ryan Fitzgerald took over and, coming off a bye, they've had an extra week to figure out how to put points on the board. Meanwhile, Joe Flacco, Ray Rice, Anquan Boldin, and co. have made the Kyle Boller/Trent Dilfer era seem like ancient history in Baltimore.
The Line: Packers -1 (5Dimes.com)
The Pick: In a huge game for both teams -- in the standings that is, not just because of Favre -- we pick the Packers. Green Bay is second in the NFL in sacks, and that pressure could coax the turnover-prone Favre into some interceptions.
Over/Under: 43 (bodog.com)
The Pick: It's hard to sort through all the mediocrity here, but we crunched the numbers and we're certain this game will be a low scoring one. Neither team puts up a ton of points, and both defenses are pretty stout. Take the under.
