ASTRONOMERS FROM A Welsh university have filmed a solar tornado on the face of the sun which is said to be five times as wide as the Earth.
Scientists Xing Li and Huw Morgan recorded the event by placing a telescope on board the Solar Discovery Observatory satellite.
They hope that the recording of this event and others will help them to understand weather in space and the causes of the space storms which can cause damage to satellites in space, The Telegraph reports.
