Alexandre Lacazette gave Arsenal fans a glimpse of what they can expect in the coming season during the club’ first pre-season game against Sydney FC on Thursday.
Lacazette, the club’s £52 million record purchase from Olympique Lyonnais, needed just 15 minutes to score his first goal for his new team.
He started the match on the bench but was brought on in the 68th minute, when Arsenal was 1-0 up.
Just 15 minutes later, the Gunners doubled their lead with Lacazette scoring a fine goal from close range — his first ever shot in a Gunners shirt.
You can watch the goal below.
Arsenal closed the game with a comfortable 2-0 victory. Per Mertesacker scored the club’s only other goal.
Arsenal now takes on Western Sydney Wanderers on July 15. The club then contests two matches in China before returning to London for the Emirates Cup at the end of the month.
