WATCH: A Tesla gets airborne after hitting a railway crossing at ludicrous speed

Not quite. Picture: SpaceX

Teslas weren’t built to fly – yet.

But this 46-year-old Canadian driver thought otherwise:

That’s crazy. Let’s look at it again in slo-mo:

The people are running because he crashed, BarrieToday reports, into a tree in a school parking lot.

Fortunately for the driver, he and his passenger escaped with minor injuries and a dangerous driving charge.

Online readers have pointed out that the driver hit railway tracks on Little Avenue in Barrie, Canada. One redditor claimed you could get airborne off them at just 30mph (48km/h).

The driver of the four-door Tesla was clearly doing way over 30mph.

That could have been a whole lot worse.
