Pitbull, the rapper around whom Walmart centered a Facebook contest, appears to have accepted the fact that he will be required to show up at the most remote Walmart in American, store No. 2711 in Kodiak, Alaska, after the store gathered more than 60,000 Likes on Facebook.Walmart and Pitbull had promised to make an appearance at whichever store got the most Likes on Facebook by July 15. With the deadline looming, a cheeky suggestion from alt weekly the Boston Phoenix that fans vote to send him the the chilly North—far from his Miami home—went viral.

The Kodiak Walmart put this picture on its Facebook page (below), of the Kodiak staff standing in front of a giant stuffed bear, inviting Pitbull to come visit.

Pitbull himself suggested on Twitter July 1 he may have to fly to Kodiak, after briefly urging his fans to vote for his local Walmart in Miami.

AgencySpy says the rapper and Walmart’s agency on the campaign, the Brand Union, will honour the outcome.
