Walgreen's Has No Plans To Stop Selling Cigarettes

Walgreen’s isn’t going to stop stocking cigarettes anytime soon.

We asked the pharmacy for a reaction to the news that CVS will stop selling cigarettes in 7,600 stores around the country.

Here’s what a spokesperson told us:

“We have been evaluating this product category for some time to balance the choices our customers expect from us, with their ongoing health needs. We will continue to evaluate the choice of products our customers want, while also helping to educate them and providing smoking cessation products and alternatives that help to reduce the demand for tobacco products”

CVS’ decision to stop selling cigarettes will cost the company an estimated $US2 billion in annual revenue.
