Last night was huge for Christie’s which brought in a whopping $388 million at its postwar and contemporary evening sale.While most of the big winners remained anonymous, Bloomberg’s Katya Kazakina and Philip Boroff report that Vladislav Doronin, the billionaire Russian boyfriend of supermodel Naomi Campbell, was the buyer of Andy Warhol‘s “Reel Basquiat.”
Doronin, who was seated next to Warhol collector Peter Brant, paid $3.3 million for the 1984 work, which was expected to go for between $2 and $3 million.
Doronin is a real estate mogul and chairman of Capital Group, based in Moscow. He has been dating Campbell since 2008.
