A portrait of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has sold for 200,000 euros ($269,000), The Moscow Times reports.
The artwork, made up of hundreds of small pictures of the Mona Lisa, is by Georgian-American artist David Datuna. It was apparently bought by a Russian businessman and had been on sale at the Art Moscow festival, which ran from Sept. 21 to 25.
We’re definitely curious about this. While we agree its a great piece of art, was the purchase made purely out of patriotism?
