The Russians hung around a close second to the USA in Tuesday’s gymnastics team final, only down 0.4 points at the halfway point.
But the Americans were able to pull ahead and keep the lead for good after a couple of costly mistakes from Russia.
Anastasia Grishina landed on her forearm and Ksenia Afanasyeva painfully landed on her ankle during floor exercises.
