While the Los Angeles Kings were clinching their first Stanley Cup, the Dodgers were across town playing their (not really) crosstown rival, the Angels. And when word of the Kings win reached the stadium, the crowd went “wild” and along with new owner Magic Johnson, gave the Kings a standing ovation.
Unfortunately, the eruption from the crowd occurred during a commercial break. However, we can see the remnants of it below, along with the description from Vin Scully.
This does leave us wondering. If these fans care enough about the Kings to go “wild,” why are they at a baseball game when the Kings have a chance to clinch?
