Despite reports to the contrary, Jon Gruden claims he is going to stay at ESPN and will not return to coaching in 2012. If true, somebody at ESPN might want to introduce him to his sideline reporters, and maybe quiz him on important political figures.That way, he might be less likely to make the same mistake he made on-air tonight during the Orange Bowl.
In an effort to fill some of the air during a 63-20 blowout, Gruden started to comment on the play-calling system employed by Clemson, that includes pictures of famous people.
Well, when a picture of Michelle Obama was shown, Gruden mistook her for an ESPN sideline reporter, and was quickly and awkwardly corrected by his partners in the booth.
Maybe he can blame it on his iPhone’s autocorrect.
