When it comes to soccer, international competitions, and penalty kicks, England has a horrific record. And that didn’t change today when Great Britain, who left David Beckham off the roster, was eliminated from the London 2012 soccer tournament by South Korea after missing two huge penalty kicks.
The first came during regulation time when Aaron Ramsey missed a penalty kick that would have given Great Britain a 2-1 lead. The second came when both countries made their first four penalty kicks after the extra time periods. Daniel Sturridge then missed, which opened the door for South Korea.
South Korea now has the privilege of facing Brazil in the semifinals.
