Andrew Luck may have just had his first “Welcome to the NFL” moment when Packers linebacker Nick Perry came through unchecked and drilled an unsuspecting Luck in the chest, jarring the ball loose. Even though the Packers recovered the fumble, Perry was flagged for a personal foul for using the crown of his helmet.
But the biggest surprise is that Luck was able to get up and stay in the game. Kid can take a punch.
NOTE: This was not a helmet-to-helmet hit. It was illegal because the defender lowered his head and targeted the quarterback with the crown of his helmet. That is illegal if the quarterback is still in the pocket…
