American Allison Schmitt just won gold in the women’s 200-meter freestyle with an Olympic record time of 1:53.61. This is Schmitt’s third medal of the 2012 London games after taking silver in the 400-meter free and bronze in the 4×100 free relay.
Her USA teammate Missy Franklin couldn’t match Schmitt with a third medal of her own, finishing 2:21 behind in fourth.
