The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is tomorrow, and models will be wearing lace, sequins and snake eyes. The macabre accessory is “key” to the show’s opener, which has a circus theme, a costume designer told Women’s Wear Daily. They obtained the snake eyes from a taxidermist.

According to WWD’s Karyn Monget:

“Jewelry designer David Mandel was creating a four-foot Diamond Back python in a myriad of brightly coloured Swarovski crystals and vintage crystals from his personal collection. Key accessories were snake eyes from a taxidermist. “Metal doesn’t drape….I’m literally sculpting with stones, and sometimes I have to solder pieces in midair to get the right angle,” said Mandel, as he popped a snake eye into its socket.”

The Victoria’s Secret show has become notoriously opulent over the years. Last year’s budget for the show was reportedly $12 million.

But the fashion show is worth its weight and gold. It helped put Victoria’s Secret on the map and enthralls millions of viewers per year.

We’ll be there tomorrow, so check out our coverage.
