Vanity Fair Just Revealed Its Hollywood Issue—With A Whites-Only Cover Again!

Vanity Fair Hollywood Cover

Eleven actresses span three pages of Vanity Fair’s prestigious Hollywood Issue cover.

In a photograph by Mario Testino, Oscar nominated actresses Rooney Mara and Jessica Chastain join Jennifer Lawrence and Mia Wasikowska in the coveted top-cover spot.

On the following two pull-out pages, five white actresses and only two of colour drape themselves in silk and furs.

We wouldn’t have noticed the colour issue had it not happened a whopping 10 times previously, as documented by Jezebel.

Take a look at these past Vanity Fair covers that prominently feature white actors, while pushing others (literally) to the side.

2011: Anthony Mackie and Rashida Jones are on the far right in this Norma Jean Roy photograph.

2008: Zoe Saldana and America Ferrera are on the page two cover.

2005: Rosario Dawson, Ziyi Zhang and Kerry Washington are all on the far right.

2004: Salma Hayek and Lucy Liu, again on the right and not the left power panel.

2003: Samuel L. Jackson and Don Cheadle, off the cover.

2002: Rosario Dawson, not on the left.

2001: ZERO black actresses are featured on any of the three cover pages.

1997: Jada Pinkett and Jennifer Lopez, not on the cover panel.

1996: Will Smith on the right.

1995: Angela Basset on the right. Catch our drift?
