At least 10 people are dead and another 15 are injured after a van ploughed into pedestrians on a sidewalk in Toronto, Canada.
Some of the injured are in a critical condition.
Police later found the Ryder rental truck and arrested 25-year-old Alek Minassian from Richmond Hill.
It was not immediately clear what caused the van to strike the pedestrians, although a law enforcement official told CNN the incident is believed to have been deliberate.
Police did not identify the driver.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed his sympathies for those involved.
Our thoughts are with all those affected by the terrible incident at Yonge and Finch in Toronto. Thank you to the first responders working at the scene – we're monitoring the situation closely.
