Going to the emergency room is never fun. Especially when you consider how much time you spend there. The most recent Pulse Report on “emergency departments” tells us that in 2009, patients spent an average of four hours and seven minutes in the ED.
That’s a 31 minute increase from 2002.
In the worst state, Utah, patients waited over eight hours before receiving help. This is the longest wait recorded by Press Ganey.
Kansas, Arizona, New York and Mississippi rounded out the rest of the bottom five.
Iowa is the best state to get suddenly injured in, with a wait time of 175 minutes.
