US stock futures are tumbling after North Korea fired a missile over Japan

US stock futures have fallen heavily in response to news that North Korea has conducted another missile test.

Futures are currently down 0.75% at 2,425.75 points, a one-week low.

According to Japanese government officials, North Korea launched what appears to be a missile headed towards the northern end of Japan at around 5.58 am local time.

Japan’s NHK News reported that the missile passed over Japan and warned people in the northern part of the country to take necessary precautions. Military officials have also told South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency that North Korea had fired a projectile.
