UN attack helicopters have opened fire on a base of President Gbagbo, the leader refusing to step down in the country, according to Sky News.The UN attack comes after Gbagbo’s forces attacked a UN base, shooting 11 peacekeepers.

Military forces loyal to elected president Alassane Ouattara are planning a “final assault” on Gbagbo’s troops in Abidjan today.

Cocoa prices have slid, though very slightly, on this most recent news. Cocoa is now trading at late 2010 levels, well off the heights of the post election crisis in the key supplier.
