Two Startups Are Duking It Out To Be The Instagram Of Video, And One Just Came Out On Top

Both Socialcam and Viddy, two video-sharing startups, are among the most popular Facebook-connected apps in the App Store.

But it looks like Socialcam, a startup spun out of video streaming site Justin.tv, has pulled out on top. Here are the charts from AppData:

Socialcam shows a nice, smooth growth curve pointed in the right direction, while Viddy appears to be losing daily Facebook-connected users at a crazy rate.

Socialcam is also now the most popular free photo app, while Viddy is the third most-popular free photo app.

You don’t have to connect to Facebook to use to use either app, but a ton of users do, so it’s a good barometer as to how healthy the app is.
