Two Really Bullish Signs From Today's Big Jobs Report

The headline number of 227K jobs created in February was very solid.But here’s the really good news: First, there were big upward revisions to the past two months.

Those added another 61K to total gains.

But then there’s this. The public sector only shed 6k  this month, one of the best months in a long time.

This is all bullish.

UPDATE: The public sector situation is even better than we realised.

As Mike Konczal notes, all the losses came from federal workers.

State and local actually added 1K jobs. First jobs gain ever.
