Twitter Takes A Page From Facebook With A Reply Wall

Twitter is testing a feature that will let you send replies to people from their profile page, the eagle eyes at Mashable found out

This is a smart idea: Twitter’s big problem is engagement. People sign up for the service but it’s hard to use and they don’t really use it. There’s no obvious way to send someone an @ reply. (If you’re snickering reading this, trust us–The Normals have a hard time with Twitter.)

Once people reach a certain threshold of engagement with Twitter, they stay engaged users for a long while. If they don’t, they sort of drop off the map. So anything that boosts engagement is a great idea.

Here’s what it looks like. There’s now a form right below the “Follow” button where you can send someone an @reply right from their Twitter profile, like you would on someone’s “Wall” on Facebook.
