After two and a half years, Twitter has moved out of its old office at 795 Folsom Street in San Francisco’s SoMa neighbourhood.
Employees filled their streams with tweets about the move on Friday.
Next stop: 1355 Market Street—what’s officially known as “Mid-Market,” but which some local wags have already dubbed the Twitterloin. (The Tenderloin, San Francisco’s Skid Row, starts on the other side of the street.)
Yammer, the social-enterprise software startup, and One King’s Lane, an online home-furnishings retailer, will be neighbours.
We assume the new offices are opening on Monday. We asked Twitter PR to confirm that, but haven’t heard back yet. (Then again, we emailed them pretty late last night, and we bet they’re tired from packing boxes!)
Sara Morishige Williams, the wife of Twitter cofounder Ev Williams, is a talented interior architect. She helped build out the old nest.
