A Transportation Security Administration screener was arrested for tossing a cup of hot coffee on a pilot who told the security worker to stop swearing, The New York Post’s Phillip Messing reports. Off-duty American Airlines pilot Steven Trivett told security worker Lateisha El and some of her colleagues to “conduct themselves more professionally in uniform and not use profanity or the N-word,” police sources told Messing.

When Trivett tried to get a closer look at El’s ID tag, she reacted by chucking a cup of coffee at the pilot, he wrote.

The scuffle occurred in the early morning of March 28 at JFK International Airport.

Fortunately, Trivett wasn’t seriously hurt, but the security worker was charged with harassment and misdemeanour-assault, Messing writes.
