This Time-Lapse Video Of Venus Crossing The Sun Says More Than All The Pictures In The World

The once-in-a-lifetime chance to watch Venus pass in front of the sun is over in the United States. The spectacle won’t happen again for another 105 years.  

NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory, a spacecraft launched in 2010 to study the sun, was on deck to capture the rare phenomenon in stunning high-resolution.

The 7-hour journey has been whittled down to about three minutes of video and images, stitched together from “several wavelengths of extreme ultraviolet light and a portion of the visible spectrum,” NASA says.
