It’s hard to start a new restaurant in New York City, but a select few have had huge success this year.Zagat’s newly released  2013 guide to New York City restaurants highlights eight new restaurants that opened this past year and really stand out.

More than 44,000 diners voted in Zagat’s New York restaurant survey this year.
