TripAdvisor Inc. (TRIP): Up 17.9% — A strong earnings report that saw TRIP beat earnings estimates of 33 cents per share by earning 35 cents per share, their stock is up over 17 per cent.
Rowan Companies Inc. (RDC): Up 3.6% — Rowan posted higher quarterly profit on strong demand and rising rates, posting a net income of 40 cents per share compared to 25 cents per share one year ago.
Chesapeake Energy Corporation (CHK) : Down 12.0% — News that Aubrey McClendon was operating a hedge fund while acting as Chairman and CEO of the company has caused CHK stock to tumble rapidly.
R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company (RRD): Down 5.7% — RRD reported better than expected earnings, but revenues fell 2.3 per cent year-over-year and investors have seen this as a cautionary signal.
Allergan Inc. (AGN): Down 5.0% —Allergan’s quarterly earnings rose, but apparently that was not enough for investors as the stock is down roughly 5 per cent.
The Clorox Company (CLX): Down 4.5% — Clorox disclosed a lower-than-expected 13 per cent decline in third fiscal quarter profits.
