Last week’s stunning arrest of the formally “dead” Colombian cartel leader Camilo Torres — aka Fritanga (“fry-up”) — at his own wedding in the Caribbean was a big get in the war against the international drugs quest. But now the arrest seems to be raising some uncomfortable questions.
It was already known that a number of soap stars and singers had been at the event, apparently unaware they were in the presence of one of South America’s top cartel leaders. But now reports in Colombian magazine Semana say that 7 Americans were at the function — including three who identified themselves as US police officers.
Semana’s website has photos of the passport of one man who reports to be a US cop — a “John Rodriguez” of New York — and video of one man being arrested telling police officers in Spanish that he was a cop.
Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Dia reports that the seven men claiming to be police officers are from Puerto Rico.
