This Video Supposedly Shows An iPhone Exploding In A 17-Year Old's Pocket

A video has surfaced on Kauppalehti, a Finnish news website, which claims to show an iPhone exploding in the pocket of 17-year old Henri Helminen.

The incident happened in a parking lot and the video, which we found via CNET, was reportedly captured by a security camera.

Helminen later told Kauppalehti that the iPhone was less than three months old and “was working perfectly” before the incident in question.

It’s hard to see the iPhone itself in the video. Instead, you see smoke rise up and Helminen quickly throws the device from his pocket onto the pavement.
