MaKey MaKey is a kit that basically turns anything into a touchpad — fruit, a regular notepad, and even a staircase.
MIT Media Lab grad students Jay Silver and Eric Rosenbaum put their invention up on Kickstarter and have raised over half a million dollars, exceeding their modest $25,000 goal.
The basic idea behind MaKey MaKey is that “it’s a simple invention kit for beginners and experts doing art, engineering, and everything in between.” All you have to do is use alligator clips to connect the kit with a physical object, and voila, that object corresponds to whatever key is assigned on the kit.
