If audiophiles are part of the one per cent, they’d probably be inclined buy this $8,000 stainless steel headphones from Final Audio Design. This gigantic Muramasa VIII is the first over-the-ear music accessory by the Japanese company, and delivers full range driver in each soft-padded ear.

The headphones also weigh 1.8 pounds, almost as heavy as the average safety helmets. With the amount of steel used to produce the Muramasa VIII, you should hope it’s also bulletproof.

Aside from the novelty factor, there’s not really a reason to blow eight grand on this gadget when there are plenty of other quality headphones for a fraction of the cost. And if you do have $8,000 to carelessly spend, here’s a list of things you can get for that amount of money:

  • 6,722 x McDonald’s Double Cheeseburgers
  • 227 x Raspberry Pi Model B computers
  • 25 x Monster Beats headphones
  • 15 x 16 GB new Wi-Fi iPads
  • A used car

Got the imagery but still tempted to buy the headphones in the name of luxury? The Muramasa VIII is slated for an April release.
