Australia’s housing market may be cooling after years of strong price growth, Sydney still remains the nation’s most expensive city – and a property in the city’s eastern suburbs which sold on the weekend adds to that.
The three-bedroom, two bathroom house built in 1920, 600 metres from Bondi Beach, sold for a staggering $7.55 million.
It has polished timber floors, separate living and dining areas, kitchen and lock-up garage and is just 165sqm on a 398sqm block of land.
Agent Peter Starr of McGrath Edgecliff said that there were three parties bidding, which started at $6.1 million, and moved in increments of $100,000. It was all over in about 10 minutes.
The property last sold for $3.15 million 11 years ago.
Let’s take a closer look.
Here’s the front of “Seavue” of Hastings Parade, North Bondi. It’s a highly-sought after street.
It looks a little different in Google Street View. The entrance is slightly obscured by the carport.
This is the location in relation to Bondi Beach and the North Bondi shopping strip, where cafes The Depot and Porch and Parlour are located.
Off the back deck, there’s a simple backyard.
