While there are some truly unique yachts on the water, the vast majority tend to be white with lots of windows, wood, and deck space, but little in the way of creative design. But a Swiss architecture firm, MCM Designstudio, are aiming to completely change the way we see yachts with this concept.
Called the Island(E)Motion, think of this as more of a floating island than your regular run-of-the-mill superyacht.
We also think it would make the perfect home for a super villain.
The grand scope of the concept can be seen from above. From a distance, we imagine it looks more like an island than a yacht.
Parts of the interior still use windows and wood, but it's for a good reason. The Island(E)Motion is intended to be a super-green vessel, so the interior designs are supposed to be harmonious with the outside environment.
And what an environment it is. Yes, there is standard teak decking, but there are also trees and grass.
The idea is to make the passengers feel like they are in a relaxing, organic, garden. But more than that, they insulate the cabin and filter rainwater, which reduces running costs.
There would also be a heavy use of renewable energy, like solar and wind power. Recycled materials are another large part of the intended building process.
Finally, there are a number of pools as well. While this is just a CGI concept at the moment, it is one we really hope finds a way to production.
