When this month started, Chris Kreider was playing in the Frozen Four and helping Boston College win a college hockey championship. Three weeks later, he is scoring important goals for the New York Rangers, helping them become the favourites to win the Stanley Cup according to Bovada.lv.Just days after winning the college national championship, Kreider, who was drafted in 2009, signed with the Rangers and was added to their playoff roster.
In Game 6 of their opening round series against the Ottawa Senators, with the Rangers facing elimination, Kreider scored his first NHL goal, a goal that would prove to be the game-winner. Then again on Saturday, in Game 1 of their second round series against the Washington Capitals, it was Kreider’s goal that gave the Rangers the lead for good.
That’s a heck of way to start a career for a kid that has yet to play a regular season game as a professional.
