Amazon has acquired Oy Modilis, a world leader in light-guide technology, and will be implementing its tech in the next generation of e-Ink Kindles, reports TechCrunch.Currently your Kindle’s screen mimics paper and can only be read in the light. But Oy Modilis has several patents that could be put to work to change this in future generations of the Amazon e-reader.

In short, you’ll be able to read in the dark as you would on your iPad or laptop.
